Once upon a time, there was a little dragon that lived in a cave high on a mountain. He was very scared of flying. He was very sad because all his brothers and sisters knew how to fly, and in the day, they would go and have amazing adventures while he would just sit inside the cave waiting for his siblings to come back at night. At dinner, they would sit around the fire outside their cave and tell each other about their adventures.
“I helped a pirate and he gave me a precious golden crown!” said his brother. “I went deep into a forest and won a battle with a lion!” said his second brother. “And I learned how to plant a garden so we don’t need to find food!” Said his sister. The little dragon just sat in a corner, listening to his brothers and sisters and saying nothing.
One day, little dragon was bored from sitting and waiting for his brothers and sisters, so he decided to climb to the top of the mountain. It was very hard for him to go up the whole mountain, but finally, he reached the top. He looked down and saw a lot of green things down there. He ran down quickly on see what it was. When he got down, he could not believe his eyes!
At the ground, there was a tropical forest! He took a little walk and soon he reached a beautiful place where there were lots of strange creatures. There was a creature that had orange and black stripes and sharp teeth. There were a few creatures on some trees that could sing. There was also one that had some thing round around its head, and lots more. But of course, little dragon had never seen a tiger, a bird, or a lion, or any kind of animal, except for seeing a dragons. They all introduced themselves to him and asked him what animal he was. When he answered, they all said: “Wow! We have never met a dragon before!”
From that day on, every day, he would run down to the forest to talk and play with the other animals. And one day, he discovered that the animals had to go to work sometimes too. So, he set of to look for some work. He discovered that he was good at tricks, and so he worked at the forest circus.
One day, after finishing his act of breathing fire, he sat down to eat an ice-cream and watch rabbit’s act of balancing on a rope made of leaves. Suddenly, rabbit lost her footing and was about to fall. Without thinking, little dragon dropped his ice-cream, flapped his wings, and flew up, just in time before rabbit fell and caught her. The animals, thought they was part of the act and clapped and cheered. “Thanks for saving me dragon!” whispered rabbit. Little dragon was happy. Not only little dragon saved rabbit, but he also now knew how to fly.
